Rice DB includes computational predictions of protein isoelectric point (pI) and molecular weight (Mw) to the nearest Dalton (unified atomic mass unit) based on MSU TIGR peptide sequences (amino acid peptide length). These are useful as gel parameters. The ExPASy estimation assumptions are documented at http://web.expasy.org/compute_pi/pi_tool-doc.html and may differ from predictions shown at the MSU website.

Usage When Searching Rice DB Usage Viewing Rice DB Results
  • N/A
  • Predicted amino-acid peptide length, pI (isoelectric point) and Mw (molecular weight) can be shown in annotation results and flat file pages.
Example: show mw for LOC_Os01g64000.2
Example: show molecular weight for LOC_Os01g64000.2
Example: show pi for LOC_Os01g64000.2
Example: show isoelectric point for LOC_Os01g64000.2
Example: show protein properties for LOC_Os01g64000.2
Example: show protein properties relating to "salt stress" in experimental phenotype
